Shad Thompson earned a bachelor of fine arts from the University of Colorado. While attending he received three Grillo, and three Goldfarb award scholarships for excellence in filmmaking. After graduation, Shad re-located to Los Angeles where he has worked for the past ten years in several facets of production on commercials, features and short films. His credits include, writing and directing on a number of short films that have screened at the Venice Film Festival, the HollyShorts Film Festival, and the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival.

To celebrate the Corolla’s 2020 Social Media Launch. Toyota selected Integrated Agency Match Marketing Group and Crown Street Films Director Shad Thompson. The goal was to document four influencers getting an up close and personal view of the new corolla on an epic California road trip from Sonoma to Los Angeles via the Pacific Coast Highway.
Written and directed by Shad Thompson, The short film, “Steal Away Home,” was inspired by the short story “A Doting Burglar” by novelist and screenwriter Ben Hecht. The yarn reminded Shad of the hustle with friend Wil Haynes, trying to produce no-budget movies around Los Angeles in 2013. Shad offered the Will the lead role in the film and described the comparisons in their lives to the protagonist in Hecht’s story.

“Steal Away Home”screened at the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival, and the Los Angeles Cinematic Arts Film Festival in 2016.
Crown Street Films worked directly with Croc’s in-house creative team to develop a series of branding films to highlight their fall footwear line. The films, co-directed by Devin Stinson and Shad Thompson were shot on location in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Ultimately, the films were used to sell product via Croc’s worldwide distribution channels including Europe and Asia.
